The youngest and newest Fenmen team started their Mid Norfolk Youth league campaign with a bang against local rivals Outwell.
A very warm Sunday morning saw a well contested first 10 minutes. The Fenmen then started to make the most of the big pitch and put Outwell under pressure resulting in three goals before halftime.
Daniel Beitans opened the scoring following a defensive lapse by Outwell and sending their keeper the wrong way.
Oliver Burton scored Wisbech’s second with a well taken free-kick from the edge of the box.
Captain Harvey Williams made it three before the break with a well timed run and slotting home from a corner.
The young Fenmen created many more chances in the second half but were denied further goals by the woodwork, some good last ditch tackling and some fine saves by the Outwell goalkeeper.
The Under 13’s did eventually add one more to their tally with Kristian Donal powering home a shot from the edge of the box into the top corner!
Outwell did grab a consolation goal to make it 4-1 but overall they didn’t trouble the Wisbech keeper.
A fine performance all round from the youngest of Fenmen and a confident start to their Wisbech Town adventure.
The youngest fenmen travel to Heacham next Sunday.
