A match where reality hit home very hard, the levels that you can come up against in the highly competitive Thurlow Nunn Under 18 midweek floodlight league.
The Under 18 Fenmen came up against a side that had no less than three first team players that had played against our very own first team last Saturday in the FA Vase.
Massive credit must go to the Wisbech players who didn’t stop working all game, created chances and scored a fantastic team goal which was finished off by a clever finish from our Under 16’s player Owen Shinn.
The young Fenmen got a glimpse of the levels they can achieve with another season or two under their belts, and where they need to be to make the step into adult Step 5/6 football.
Godmanchester Rovers won’t lose many games this season and the young Fenmen will have learned a lot against a very good side.
The Under 18’s are next in action away against Wisbech St.Mary on Tuesday 5th September 7.45pm KO.
