The Fenmen started life under interim boss Alex Street with a comprehensive cup win at Godmanchester this afternoon.
Wisbech, with Max Mattless making his first start of the season, scored three excellent goals and, almost as important, kept a clean sheet for the first time this season.
The home side, from the United Counties League Premier Division South, fell behind in the early stages when, after good work on the right, the ball found Toby Allen on the left and his powerful shot gave the goalkeeper no chance.
Wisbech might have added to their advantage but the final pass went astray on a difficult pitch, full of bumps and ridges. Godmanchester came much more into the game and exerted some pressure as the first half wore on, but Mattless was a steadying influence and the defence as a whole stood firm. Newcomer Keenan Hall once again performed well.
A good start to the second half was vital and Wisbech made it 2-0 almost immediately. This time Amir Ward, who had an excellent second half, did well on the left before Sisa Tuntulwana scored with a fine effort from 25 yards.
The pitch made accurate passing difficult but the Fenmen, growing in confidence, looked much more likely to add to their score.
When the goal came, midway through the half, it was a special from Ward. Wide on the left, he curled a right-footed effort into the top corner, again giving the home goalkeeper no chance.
Wisbech showed plenty of endeavour after their recent setbacks and even a late deluge failed to dampen their spirits or those of the visiting fans, who made up the majority of the crowd.
They entertain Eastern Counties League side Whitton Utd in the next round on Saturday 23rd September.
